10:09 am - Relief.
I haven't been up this early in weeks!

Oh whew. After two days of hyperventilating and anxiety attacks, I got my leaving certificate results! Boy am I relieved. I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my very SOUL that I had failed Maths, but to my own shock I scraped a B2! I'm pretty pleased with the rest of my results too, I got more than enough points than I need, which is good too. All my hard work was not in vain, thankfully, and now a future is mine! College is afoot and so on.

Tomorrow I head on holiday to Spain, the Balearic Islands to be exact. Santa Ponsa, Mallorca! Debauchery will no doubt ensue, hopefully I will make it home alive and unharmed. Two weeks of clubbing, drinking and antics... it's more of an endurance kinda thing than my idea of a relaxing holiday. Still, it's my first without being with family, so it should be pretty fun.

I'll try to post now and again from Spain, if I can find a Net Cafe somewhere... but till the 31st, I bid Ireland adieu! See yuh in two weeks!

2:11 pm - On hygienic conditions
Nostalgia mode begin!
So Oxegen was full of mayhem and antics, but i'm totally glad to be back. Those kind of conditions do not suit me at all (portable outhouses... the images of horrendousness will never fade from my mind) and tent life did not offer the opportunity for comfort or privacy. Nonetheless, it was fun, and there were great bands on offer, most of which I didn't expect to be great.

My diet for the three days consisted of cold baked beans (in tomato sauce), quaffed straight from the can and washed down with cheap Lidl beer (Grafen Walder, I was shocked at the prospect of the germans making a bad tasting beer). It was also refreshing to see that the old systems of barter are still in place somewhere in this world, I traded my lighter for two paper cups (a vital commodity) and then through the ancient art of alchemy I soon was drinking rum and coke out of said cups.

Yet amongst the seemingly free markets in place, monopolies were held by the evil concession stands, who sapped us innocent festival goers of our hard earned money. 4.50 for a piece of F grade meat and faux-bread bun?! Blegh. Still, a welcome change from all those beans...

The bands themselves were quite enjoyable, but the atmosphere alone was worth the €160 or so I payed for the ticket. Wandering up to a random group of people and chatting away with them gaily was a unique experience for shy old me. I won't get into a huge review of the acts I saw, but Bell X1 and Sigur Rós totally blew me away. I was so in awe of both that a trance like state developed within me and before I knew it they were finished playing. Quite the exceptional bands! And Bell X1 threw marshmellows out to us, which was fun, except people were eating them off the gravely ground. Many callings of the five second rule could be heard!

Anyway, my 19th birthday approaches and I'm feeling kinda weird about stuff but that's for another post!

5:44 pm - Off to Oxegen!
Well, tomorrow is the start of the Oxegen music festival in Punchestown and that's where i'm going to be, living in squalor for the few days. I've never been to a festival before, but I can expect it to involve a lot of filth, noise, heat and drunkenness... i.e uncomfortable conditions which I despise!

This year the line up is pretty cruddy. Like... The Who?! James Brown?! Whose idea was it to roll them out of the freezers to play? I'll probably spend most of my time in the dance tent, and I hear there is a silent disco somewhere too, which sounds crazy. Hopefully I won't get lost or trapped in a burning tent or pass out somewhere rotten... Why am I going again? That's it, after this I'm never leaving my house again! Anyway, I better go pack my rucksack and get the tent ready. See y'all on monday, when I will be utterly ruined, drained and stinky. Wewt!

8:18 pm - Philot made me post this....
"LUV LUV this is my LJ"

Well, this is my first poast in what will most likely become an unfrequently updated LJ, since, being born out of boredom as this was... well.. only time will tell! I look forward to penetrating the livejournal community (hehe, penetrating) and spamming up people's journals with sub-par comments that I shall surely come up with. Hurrah!
